  1. Hi Big Fella,

Sorry I haven't been in touch for a while, but, as you can imagine the 42 first year scenario is taking its toll; don't get me wrong - the energy is great, but it's very 'immersive' (haha!). I always get a nice warm glow when I see a new post from you, because I know how hard it can be to keep projects going when the more prosaic pressures of work and domestic life seek to rob you of your creative spark. I very much like the character sheets of the 'sexy ladies' - and the concept art pieces (the floating city one?) are very assured-looking. Now, my first years are a few weeks away from commencing their own concept art project, during which they'll create three digital paintings from existing literary texts; they'll use graphics tablets to produce them.

I'm going to talk to Mike about the possibility of getting you in to present your own work to the first years &, if you're agreeable, get you to be a 'blog watcher' - you would view the first year's progress via their blogs (which are great, by the way) and guide, advise, critique as and when you felt it was appropriate - leaving comments and feedback.

Obviously, I'm asking Mike for a fee for you - probably a one-off amount (and probably not very much!) - I do have a speculative date - 28th October - A wednesday afternoon; it would be in the first week of their new project, so they would still be in a very speculative place, so you could show them the entire pipeline of work - from text-breaking and thumbnails, right through to the final animation... I know it's not easy for you to get off work, but I'd really like to bring you in; I'd be around for the presentation, as I'd be teaching postmodernity in the morning to the second year... anyway, let me know if you'd be up for it in principle, and I'll grease the wheels...
